Is budget air the way upward?
Are budget airlines doing well in Asia? According to
them they are. According to them in a story released
in Travel Mole, the airlines should benefit from
bargain hunting travelers. They are poised to take
advantage of falling oil prices, and an increased
demand for bargain flights.
Apparently somebody named Bruce Buchanan is in
charge of Jetstar airlines in Australia. He said
that now there is a very strong demand for this type
of budget carrier, but also said in the same meeting
that this was not the case six months ago.
The biggest perceived threat to the growth of
discount airlines? Protectionism baby. Will
governments step in to limit this service as a way
of saving jobs for their national carriers? Watch
